Products we love || The Milk Snob Cover

One of the first products I purchased when I knew little Georgia was on the way was the Milk Snob nursing cover. Like many other of our favourite products we first came across Milk Snob on instagram, I was fascinated by the carseat covers and when I discovered that they also doubled as a nursing cover I knew I had to have one.

Used over a carseat, the Milk Snob cover is perfect for protecting your little babe from bright lights, wind and prying eyes. Fabricated from a lightweight rayon blend they keep baby cool in warm climates and cozy in cool weather. Fabric is breathable and has a four way stretch to fit easily over any carseat or capsule. I love that it lets you peek at your little babe without disturbing them and its perfect for putting over the capsule when you a transferring baby from the car – with no need to worry about waking them with the change in light.

cover closeupI use our milk snob cover over the top of our Edwards & Co pram when out walking, especially when trying to get Georgia off to sleep, it stops the bright light from getting in her eyes and stops protects against the wind. I love that it still keeps her cool and replaces the need for pegged on wraps or muslins.

feeding coverAs a nursing cover it gives me confidence to feed Georgia anywhere, you just slip it over one shoulder, pop baby underneath and away you go! She doesn’t overheat underneath, she can still see and because the fabrics are on trend they look like clothing, no daggy clips or pegs insight. You can easily peek in to see if baby is properly latched etc, but from a distance no one even knows you’re feeding (till they see the little feet popping out underneath). I love that you don’t have to worry about it blowing off in a breeze!

This multifunctional product is just genius and definitely one of our must have products. Its the one thing I make sure i never leave the house without. It folds down to nothing and can fit in a nappy wallet.

If you’d love one of these Milk Snob Covers be sure to follow them on instagram as they sell out quick and you need to wait for the re-stock opportunities. They often release limited edition colour-ways too.

Products we love || The Tummy Tub

This week we’re sharing some of our favourite products for bubs. Today its all about the tummy tub or ‘belly bath’ as my dad calls it. After watching so many cute clips of bathing babies on YouTube we knew we needed one of these magical tubs.

Developed in the Netherlands the tummy tub was designed to replicate the mothers womb, keeping the baby in an upright position and submerged to their shoulders. It uses less water than your standard baby bath and saves the back ache as its easy to lift even when full and can sit on a bench top so you don’t have to lean over holding your babies full weight.

Georgia had her first tummy tub at 5 days old and loved it instantly, it has a calming effect on her as she feels cocooned in the rounded shape of the bucket and loves being upright. The deep water keeps her nice and warm too, just like a spa. We find its great if she needs an extra bit of help getting off to sleep, it just seems to relax her.

There are so many reasons to love the tummy tub, we love how easy it is to support baby when in the tub as you just need a couple of fingers under their chin and you rest the back of their head against the back of tub which leaves your other hand free to wash baby. It sounds complex but its really easy once you get the hang of it. The video below shows the technique in use.

The tummy tub makes bath times easy and stress free, and are also better for the enviroment using less water than traditional baby baths.

Tummy tubs are available from Nature Baby.

We’d love to hear if you have tried the tummy tub and what you thought – just drop us a comment below.

A Little Babe Shower

On October 10th we hosted a ‘little babe shower’ to celebrate the impending arrival of baby Georgia Grace. It was a magical day and everything I could have dreamed of and more. We were blessed to have so many special women there, many whom had travelled a long way to share the day with us.

It was the perfect photo booth for snaps with friends and family. Miss Daisy Flower Boutique created our amazing table arrangements which blew us away they were perfect mixture of boho brights.
