Trend Watch – Raspberry Sorbet

It all started with this image by Boston Pollen, a bouquet of rich berries, plums and scarlets… then an obsession began. We can’t get enough of the new season fashion and interior pieces filling our feed in multiple shades of this gorgeous hue.

Here are a few of our finds so far that channel this autumnal berry hue. We love the textures of our springbok hide clutch with shots of deep plum and pinks, and it looks fab with the new season country road fedora and a slick of Mac rebel lipstick!

A Fenton Weekender

We all love a long weekend don’t we, and its even better if we have a weekend pad to escape to!

Lucy Fenton & Josh Markeys 1970’s getaway is just fabulous, located in coastal Victoria it is decked out with some of their nautical treasures collected from around the globe over the years, as well as awesome pieces from their store Fenton & Fenton in Melbourne

The wooden interior is much like the Lockwood builds that constitute many NZ holiday bach’s. The timber interior forms a perfect backdrop to display all their treasures.

No matchy-matchy here, a riot of styles and layers make this place just ‘work’ – the combination of natural timber, texture and pops of colour create a fun, relaxed vibe.

The life ring, surfboard & water skis look great displayed inside and add that beach vibe.

Bringing a hanging chair inside says …relax a while, read a book, daydream ……

Nothing too precious here ….. A mix of industrial chairs and vintage bar stools add a fun twist!

Adding a few surprises to the mix is the headboard made from a pair of old doors, not only are they colourful they add texture and scale to an otherwise tiny room.

A bit of a bowerbird Lucy has collected shells from the beach and displayed them in jars and also made them into a garland above her bed sitting perfectly alongside Ahoy Trader crosses.

Shibori Loving

We have been obsessing over the shibori trend for sometime now, perfect for channelling our inner-boho and creating the feel of an endless summer. If you don’t know what shibori is… It’s a Japanese fabric dying using twisting, folding, binding & compressing in order to produce unique and beautiful patterns once dyed, often with indigo ink. The clever manipulation of fabric in this way creates patterns that look almost 3d!

There is something timeless & nostalgic about indigo…. guess it reminds us of our first pair of denim jeans, or long hot summers when the sky was as blue as indigo.

Our beautiful range of hand dyed hand made cushions come all the way from the USA made specially for Ses + Jen – The Store. Indulge in a little piece of this collection perfect in any setting …. We ADORE ours
