If you’re lucky enough to have visited Melbourne or Bali lately you may have been wowed by amazing murals by the very talented Lucas Grogan. Notorious for incorporating cheeky phrases with his signature bright blue graphic art, Lucas’s signature works a delight to behold.
Based in Melbourne, Lucas’ studio is a delightful collection of his works in progress (How cute are the fan blades!) His works span many media including ceramics, textiles and canvas.
His art is inspired from many cultures including Islamic and Aboriginal art, which led to some controversy and as a result his switch from black and white to the signature blue tones which he’s now so well known for.

It’s no secret we’re massive fans of Bonnie & Neil, the clever Melbourne based duo that have mastered the art of beautiful hand screened textiles and developed a cult like following with other interior addicts like ourselves. We were lucky enough to meet the lovely Bonnie, a fellow Kiwi on our recent trip to Melbourne, and also had the opportunity to take in the eye candy that is their new season showing. Each season we pick out a couple of our favourite pieces to add to our growing collection, last year it was the pineapple coconut table cloth and this year it’s the wall tile!
After oohing and ahhing over their amazing screen printed ply wall tiles, I’m finally taking the plunge and ordering a few for a project I’ve had in the works for a while… problem is each season they add more to the collection and I get torn between all the gorgeous prints!
To add to that almost every season of the Block AU they use these tiles in a jaw-droppingly gorgeous rooms and I fall in love all over again! Today we’re sharing some of our favourites and we’d love to know your picks… so drop us a comment below.
These gorgeous tiles are available direct from the studio in Melbourne – you can check them out here. Be sure to follow Bonnie & Neil on instagram too for lots of awesome inspo.
Dodging raindrops and battling freezing winds required layers and lots of them. This is what we wore on our second day in Melbourne, which we spent visiting some very cool stores and checking out the back streets of Fitzroy.
